Recorded in April and May of 2011 at UMass Lowell campus, "The Inadequate" is a variation of "Bastard Child," a song originally performed by Aaron James Nicolas, Cody Nicolas, and Sara Holbert, as a three piece La De Les ensemble in 2009. La De Les felt the song needed to be recorded, but that it did not fit the overall theme of the full-length Gadfly. They were approached by Josh Wilson with an opportunity to record two songs for his final project as a sound engineer at UMass Lowell. "The Inadequate" and "Two Servants" were the obvious choices.
lyrics
